Romance novels with strong female lead and awesome plot?

Umm, it's called "Bloody Jack Series" it has 8 books: It's about a girl whose family all died and is taken in by a street gang. And she has grown very fond of them. When Charlie Rosster, the leader of the gang dies, Mary "Jacky" Faber cuts her hair and as a boy, joins a British Navy ship as a midshipman. These books are placed in the 18th - 19th century. I really recommend this series, it's a very very good series. I'm on the 7th book right now. Once I start reading, I can't stop. And before I know it, I've been reading for 5 hours straight. Please, give the series a try.
